Kitezone Saint Pierre

Saint Pierre KitezoneSudwindsports operates on the St.Pierre-la-Mer Kitezone, a wide strip of sandy beach (300m) closed off solely for kitesurfing, with a private stretch of Mediterranean Sea offering plenty of space to ride. Even in the busy summer months the beach is cordoned off from sunbathing families and amateur fishermen so that there is enough space to roll out the lines, and launch and land your kite, both for students on courses and for independent riders. The St.Pierre-la-Mer Kitezone was opened in 2003 and is one of the few beaches in France, and in fact in Europe, where organized kitesurfing is permitted all year round.

Kitesurfers who bring their own equipment

For independent kitesurfers who are not joining in lessons with Sudwindsports and use the Kitezone with their own equipment there are a few rules enforced in order to keep the zone safe. The Kitezone is open to all independent kitesurfers who have attained a certain riding level. Click here for more information on the safety rules and rescue boat cover. You don't have the right kite size for the wind conditions? No problem, you can rent equipment locally. Click here for prices.
